I start each prayer thanking and praising God, because I never want to forget His goodness and allow the troubles of this world to consume me. The more I focus on Him, the more my worries shrink in the presence of His greatness! Lord, You are good!

"Speak without thinking, and your words can cut like a knife. Be wise, and your words can heal."
Proverbs 12:18
Words have so much power to build or destroy. Think before you spit it out because sometimes your silence is much more helpful than your words.

It’s nice to be told you’re beautiful or hot or whatever, but I’d love to hear some say that I make things easier, that they’re happy I exist, they don’t know what they’d do with out me, I’m strong, that they hope we never lose each other, that they’re proud of me, that I have something to offer. Compliments don’t always have to be about appearance.

"What made me love Christ wasn’t that all of a sudden I figured out how to do life. What made me love Christ is that when I was at my worst, when I was at my lowest point, when I absolutely could not clean myself up and there was nothing anybody could do with me, right at that moment, Christ said, “I’ll take that one. That’s the one I want.” You know the Bible calls the church Christ’s bride. So it’s like standing before Jesus, completely exposed, all of our flaws and insecurities and— worse than that— our sins are right there in front of his face, and against all reason and rationale, the song of grace becomes startlingly, exhilaratingly true because the Groom looks at us and declares us beautiful. Spotless. Righteous. Justified. This is the gospel. It is important to admit, believers in Jesus, that Christians are not more moral than anyone else. The essence of the gospel and what we celebrate is not that “we can” but that Christ did."

Life before God was cool. I lived a good life. Did nice things for people. Was happy TBH. I did not come to God with a desperate need to have my life changed. But that was the problem. I never knew I needed God until I met Him. I never knew that the deeds I called “good” didn’t really matter at the end of the day if I didn’t even know the One who created me with such purpose. My testimony may not seem all that exciting. Some people meet God while they’re stuck in an addiction, or near death. That didn’t happen to me. I met God, and honestly, truthfully, it changed everything for me in the best way possible. Now, I am able to recognize the joy He puts in my life, and instead of calling things “coincidence” I am truly able to see Him at work in everything. He is real, and He loves you. I pray that you too, would have a personal encounter with Jesus. You won’t know the joy that comes with knowing Him until you experience Him for yourself.
